Session Themes

A brief overview of the Global Leadership Training Program session themes.

The first session of the GLTP begins with a review of the ‘7 Imperatives of Great CEOS’, with specific emphasis on the necessity of vision, implementing culture, driving accountability, and achieving alignment and synchronicity. Participants will also be introduced to Emotional Intelligence (EI), including the Five Components of EI, and the crucial role that EI plays in enabling high performance.

This session goes deeper into Emotional Intelligence with an examination of the four essential EI competencies of leaders, and the EI skills associated with leadership derailment. The purpose of this session is to help participants identify their leadership potential and understand the habits holding them back from reaching their full potential. To facilitate this, participants will be encouraged to participate in an EQ Self-Assessment.

In this session we examine the Five Dysfunctions of a Team and the key ways to overcome them. Participants will complete a ‘Team Assessment’, identify the #1 dysfunction on the team they are currently leading, and learn specific actions they can take to eliminate that dysfunction. This session also takes a focused look at the keys to successful meetings, with specific emphasis on the benefits of the Four Meeting Model.

This session provides participants with the required tools to help them develop a culture of accountability within the team they are leading. The goal of the session is for participants to understand the importance of a well-defined Mission, the Four Superpowers of OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), and develop their number one strategic priority to improve their team’s ‘spirit of performance’.

In this session, participants will be introduced to the key characteristics and ‘mega competencies’ of ‘A-Players’ and why they are so important to find, attract and retain. Specific tools and action items to achieve this will be shared and discussed. Participants will also how to identify and deal with B and C Players.

This session begins with a review of EQ Self-Assessment results with the intention of providing each participant with a better understanding of the emotional intelligence skills essential to support being a successful leader. The value of receiving feedback is discussed alongside an introduction to the Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI 360).Participants will be encouraged to complete an LPI 360 on themselves, the person they report to, their peers and their direct reports.

In this session we will dig deeper in team performance and look at the five critical factors in building an A-Player team. This session also includes a comprehensive discussion on diversity, equity and inclusion and the importance of DEI to a healthy team dynamic.

In this session, participants will review their LPI 360 feedback, determine their #1 leadership behaviour to improve based on that feedback, and develop a specific action plan to achieve that improvement. The value of KPIs, the importance of knowing the numbers and having a template to view and analyse those numbers will be discusses. Participants will be challenged to develop their top three KPIs for their area of responsibility.

This session focuses on how to deliver “superior” presentations and how (and when) to have successful ‘confrontational’ conversations. Participants will take away key communication and presentation tips and tools, and identify their #1 Action Item for their most important #1 Fierce Conversation.

The purpose of this session is for participants to learn how to have successfully lead transformational change and drive innovation, including the ‘Eight steps to Transformational Change’ and the ‘4 Box Change Management Model.’ Participants will also evaluate how they spend their time versus the highest and best use of their time and determine action items for improving their time leadership.

“My experience, although early in the global leadership training program, has already delivered an immediate positive impact on how I view my position, roles and responsibilities, and operational discipline. The program structure provides pre-work case studies, group breakout discussions with peers across industries, and practical actions to implement.
